Acquired by the County in 2010, Smith Farm Park spans 395 acres at the intersection of Lovely Valley Road and Craftsford Road in the Union Hall district. The property is subject to deed restrictions permitting only specific uses: recreational, educational, preservation, and forestry/agricultural activities.
In 2016, a conceptual master plan for Smith Farm was developed. This plan delineated areas for preservation and recreation, designating forested regions and streams for conservation, while earmarking upland or open field areas for recreational features such as campgrounds, special event venues, trails, and lake access.
Over time, various factors have evolved, rendering the 2016 plan no longer fully aligned with current needs. Parks and Recreation is now seeking community feedback to refine and enhance this plan, ensuring it optimally serves both residents and visitors.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
