2020 Fall Sports Update
Times are uncertain due to Covid-19. Franklin County Parks and Recreation continues plans to offer Fall sports but realizes that the season may be disrupted by Covid-19. For this reason, we are updating the refund process and creating a contingency plan for the Fall 2020 sports season. This policy would be followed if athletic programming is cancelled due to Covid-19 or if our area is in a Phase in which games are not allowed. If there is no cancellation due to Covid-19 the original refund policy would be in place which states that full refunds will only be given if requested by the on-time registration deadline for the sport the participant is enrolled in.
All Fall sports participants will get a full refund of registration and late fees if the season is cancelled prior to the first games being played due to Covid-19. After the first game has been played, a 50% refund of registration fees will be given if none of the teams have played more than 4 games. No late fees will be refunded after games begin. After teams have played more than four games, no refunds will be given.
If we are not in a phase that will allow us to offer games, the registration fee will be refunded. Soccer and baseball teams will be formed, and teams will meet to practice. This will allow teams to meet and practice, while giving youth the opportunity to interact with peers and engage in physical activity.
Lacrosse is set up for a practice only season, nothing will change with the lacrosse schedule if we are in a phase that allows practices to be held.
The Sandlot Football league plays through Roanoke County and will follow plans outlined by Roanoke County for the football season.
