HIKES THEN BITES: BUFFALO MOUNTAIN & FLOYD SODA FOUNTAIN

It’s the second day of Spring and no better way to put a spring in your step than to summit Buffalo Mountain. Reward yourself after the moderate 2.1 mile hike with a post hike lunch from the Floyd Country Store and ice cream from the Floyd Soda Fountain. This relaxing adventure will take it slow enough to observe some of the 15 rare plants that make “The Buffalo” unlike any other place in the Commonwealth. And it goes without saying that the Floyd Country Store is a rare species in and of itself. We will finish things off with a quick stop at Red Rooster Coffee Shop where you can get a treat to go, or just take in the smells. The shuttle leaves the Essig Recreation Center at 8:30 am. Transportation and leadership provided. Lunch is on your own. Registration Deadline: Monday, March 18, 2024
